Self-Forgiveness: Stepping Forward by Dr. G. L. Sampoorna

Course Description

Self-Forgiveness is a self-healing process that frees us from our personal prison of guilt, shame and anger.

To forgive ourselves, we first need to fully acknowledge our hurtful actions and mistakes, process the emotions around them and make amends where we can. This is a process which enables us to make things right within ourselves. It also frees us to choose differently in the future.

For the purpose of this course, think of an event or experience where you caused hurt or harm to another person because of your actions. This can be recent or something that you did long time ago. It can be big or small, and even something that other people tell you to not think too much about. Maybe you did not support someone when they need it. If you feel guilty or ashamed about it, it counts.

If you absolutely cannot find any time in your life where you did something wrong to another person, think of a time when you did something wrong to yourself or did not support yourself. Once you have the event, proceed to the next section.

In this course, you will learn:

1. What Self-Forgiveness is and isn’t
2. Why punishment does not work, and Why it is in the best interest of everyone concerned, including your victim, to forgive yourself.
3. To access, acknowledge and process the guilt, shame, anger, resentment and grief that you are carrying
4. Powerful techniques to release stored emotions
5. How to make amends in a way that is really meaningful to the other person.
6. How to truly change the behaviours and tendencies you dislike in yourself
7. How to move from a state of stuck-ness to a state of peace, love and freedom

Duration: 3.5 Hours over two days (1 hour 45 mins per day)

Impact Stories

“I am really glad that I attended this Self-forgiveness workshop. I was able to give myself totally and be present to all the processes and all that was said. I feel lighter and cheerful. I have gained clarity on not just doing self-forgiveness work, but I feel confident on being able to change the behaviours that don’t serve me to positive constructive behaviours.” – Poornima Hinduja

“After the In-person Forgiveness workshop at RCCL, there was an intense calling to enroll for the Self forgiveness course.  I am blessed that it is available in this on-demand format. No doubt that Forgiveness work is like facing the demons by taking them by their horns and teeth, staring right through them, both physically and emotionally. However ridiculous and self destructive it may sound to do that, it actually helps . And it’s an instant switch and click to a new reality and a perspective . And our life can never be the same ever again after being initiated with these tools. Thanks to the Universe for guiding me to RCCL and Sampoorna,” – Sridhar

“The Self forgiveness workshop is highly recommended to help process feelings of guilt, fear & being self critical. The chord & walkie talkie exercise helped me relive painful emotions, and simultaneously let go with ease. The songs at the start of the workshop are calming & help stimulate mind to be less harsher on ourselves.” – Chhavi
